I am Dr. Lori Joseph, originally from Los Angeles, CA. I moved to Maine in 2016 for graduate school at UNE. As an undergraduate, I studied Nutrition and Physiology at U.C. Berkeley. My clinical interests include working with young athletes, balance issues in the aging population, postural correction, and managing chronic pain. I have a strong background in manual therapy and use techniques such as counter strain, myofascial and trigger point release, joint mobilization, and manipulation.
I found my passion for physical therapy as a patient myself and have been able to apply my on-the-job experiences to improve my own physical abilities. There is nothing I enjoy more than helping someone return to the activities they love.
I firmly believe in the interconnectedness of physical and mental wellbeing and I am dedicated to promoting overall wellness. This commitment is reflected in my practice, where I integrate stress management, nutrition, and holistic strategies to address each patient in a comprehensive manner.
Outside of work, I lead an active lifestyle, enjoying activities like travelling, hiking, boxing, yoga, long boarding, and paddle boarding. Other interests include shooting pool, reading sci-fi novels, and relaxing with my fiancé and our Maine Coon cat.
I am very excited to work with and learn from Michelle as I step into my new role here at Centreboard!
